For the world of skiing, many people on ski teams around the world see this as a big step.  As snowboarding, this could give skiing the same sort of popularity.

There will certainly be an uproar in the skiing community, if the event is not approved. This event will give an extra sense of credentials to their sport, many people that ski, feel this way. These athletes feel like more people will see the sport that they take part in as a more legitimate sport if the men’s and women’s halfpipe event are in the upcoming Olympics.

While winning 26, he has only lost 7 fights to this point in his career.

It was not expected that in this fight, sports betting favorite, Mirko Filipovic would fight Barry. Most thought that, on Ben Rothwell, he would take on. These teams are the favorites to advance out of this group. Netherlands is the overwhelming favorite, and online sports betting odds star team, Cameroon by a small margin. If each of these teams wins their previous games, the prize of this match will simply be to see who wins Group E overall. If both teams have already won their previous games then they will both advance regardless.

However, to advance to the next round of play, if Cameroon loses to, football betting favorite, Denmark, this could be a last “all they can give” effort.

For both teams, one of the keys to this game will be the play of online sportsbook betting odds favorite, Samuel Eto’o. He has been the leader for Cameroon and is one of the premier players in the world. When he has scored in games, Cameroon has been tough for anyone to beat. The Netherlands may be the type of team that can contain a star like Eto’o and have a stellar defense.

Not only because of Netherlands’ great defense, they will be the favorites, but because they have a stellar offense as well. In the world, their offensive attack ranks among the best. This will be difficult for Cameroon. Cameroon may not be able to handle the Netherlands offense and has struggled to be consistent defensively. These defensive struggles may take Cameroon out of the game regardless of the play of Samuel Eto’o.

For the world's professional poker, the World Series of Poker bracelet events are land mines. They must dodge amateurs who qualified through satellites or are accustomed to playing fast and loose online.

The Players Championship paid 16 players and saw only 116 entrants. 2008 - WOSP - Review

posted on 06/02/2010 07:39 AM

At the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, the 2008 World Series of Poker was held. On May 30, 2008, the series began and featured 55 events. With the exception of the Main Event, all events ended by July 15.

The WSOP introduced “November Nine” and this was the year. The nine players are the November Nine who make the final table of the Main Event. As soon as the field was narrowed to the nine finalists, play was suspended for four months and resumed in November.  To do a same-day Main Event broadcast, the change was introduced at ESPN’s request to allow them.

On July 14, the nine finalists were determined. Until November 9, the final table was not played, and it was played at the Penn and Teller Theater rather than the traditional Amazon Room.

In the final hand of the Main Event to win poker’s most prestigious tournament, Peter Eastgate defeated Ivan Demidov. Eastgate became the youngest ever to win the Main Event, at 22 years old. He walked away with a $9,152,416 cash prize including handsome poker bonuses. In the main event, there were 6,844 players, up slightly from the 6,358 that played in 2007. It was still well below the record 8,773 that played in the 2006 Main Event.

When Justin Phillips eliminated Motoyuki Mabuchi from the Main Event, it was one of the most memorable events of the 2008 World Series of Poker. Only to lose to Phillips' royal flush, Mabuchi held quad aces and in went all. According to broadcaster Lon McEachern, the odds of quad aces and a royal flush being held at the same time are 1 in 2.7 billion.

Roller Hockey (inline) a.k.a Ball Hockey

posted on 05/29/2010 04:26 AM

Except that Roller hockey is played on land instead of ice, it is similar ice hockey. Players wear skates with wheels, instead of wearing ice skates.

Quad and inline are the two different kinds of roller hockey. Traditional roller hockey is quad, in which players wear roller skates that have four wheels. Newer form of roller hockey is Inline hockey, online sports betting favorite, where players wear inline skates.

Although the different skates lend to different types of action, both games are fast. Quad skates allow players to make fast maneuvers in any direction, compared to inline skates. Compared to quad skates, inline skates allow players to quickly race across the rink, much as ice hockey players do.

Roller hockey (quad), online sportsbook favorite game, is played especially in Europe, even though it is played worldwide. In Portugal, Spain and Italy, are the standout clubs. In 1992, roller hockey was a demonstration sport in the Summer Olympics in Barcelona. Roller hockey is also called hardball hockey, international style ball hockey, quad hockey and rink hockey.

Roller hockey (inline) is strongest in the United States and is also played worldwide, which has dominated the Inline Hockey World Championships. Inline hockey is also known as road hockey, street hockey, ball hockey and skater hockey.

Ernie Els - Preview - U.S. Open

posted on 05/28/2010 03:36 AM

Starting June 17 at Pebble Beach, Ernie Els will be competing for his third US Open championship. He is a viable candidate to join an elite club of men who have won three US Opens, as the seventh-ranked player in the world.

In the US Open, online sports betting odds star, Els made his mark early. In 1993, his first tournament came and he finished in a tie for seventh. The following year, Els played the starring role in a dramatic US Open at Oakmount Country Club in Pennsylvania.  Els were tied for the lead with Loren Roberts and Colin Montgomerie for the lead, after 72 holes. The subsequent 18-hole playoff ended in a tie between Roberts and Els with Montgomerie being eliminated. On the second sudden death hole, Els defeated Roberts, which was the 92nd hole of the tournament.

In 1995, after missing the half-way cut, Els returned to the top five of the online sportsbook betting odds favorite tournament, US Open in 1996 at Oakland Hills Country Club in Michigan. With Jim Furyk, he finished at plus one and tied for fifth place. They were three strokes behind winner Steve Jones.

The following year, Els would capture his second US Open championship (and second major). At the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, the 1997 US Open was held. After an opening-round score of 71, Els went on to post scores of 67, 69, and 69 in the final three rounds to put him at four under par for the tournament. At three under par, Colin Montgomerie, online golf betting star, again finished right behind Els.

Els have had moderate success at the US Open (2nd in 2000, 5th in 2003) but have to win another one, since his 1997 win. 13 years removed from his last one; whether the 40-year-old veteran can win, another US Open will be an interesting subplot going into the 2010 US Open.
