Ivory Coast versus Brazil - World Cup Preview

posted on 06/18/2010 07:10 AM

Brazil is scheduled to face the Ivory Coast on June 20, in each team’s second game of group play of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. At Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa, at 2:30 PM ET, the match will take place. The teams are a part of Group G.

The Ivory Coast squad has generated a great deal of buzz while heading into the tournament and the team is loaded with big names. To become the first African team to reach the finals of the World Cup in its 80-year hi, they are the most likely candidate.

The status of forward online sportsbook betting odds favorite, Didier Drogba will be a major factor in determining the Ivory Coast’s chances. On June 14, he broke his arm in a team’s final Friendly against Japan. He has stated that he will not play in the tournament, but his team has not ruled it out.

Should Drogba play, Brazilian fans can take solace in a match between Inter Milan in a Champion’s League Match and his club, Chelsea. In the match, Brazilian captain and
online sports betting odds star, Lucio played for Inter, and the defender was a big reason for his team’s victory. Drogba was made a non-factor in the match, as he led a defensive unit.

Brazil is the favorite out of what is considered the toughest group and is the number one-ranked team in the world. There is no question they will be prepared for the soccer betting favorites, Ivory Coast regardless of whether Drogba plays or not and they are accustomed to successful World Cup tournaments.

To this point in his career, UFC 115 betting star, Yvel, has already fought in an incredible 52 professional fights. He is not experienced in the UFC, although he is very experienced in mixed martial arts in general. His last fight was his debut in the UFC. In a TKO in the first round in his last fight, he lost to UFC betting star, Junior dos Santos. This is an important match for Yvel as he hopes to prove that he belongs in the UFC and that he can continue to fight at a high level.

Due to the flue, online sports betting odds star, Bary missed his last assignment, but he is ready to begin fighting again. His UFC debut was also a recent event. By TKO in the 2nd round of UFC 104 against Cain Velasquez, he lost his debut.

For both fighters, this fight will be extremely important. Neither one wants to lose their first two UFC bouts that they are given, even though they each have experience. A bad loss for either one of these could limit his UFC career.

Expect each of these fighters to show, with pride on the line. they both know how to win fights and both have won at least 30 fights in their career. Each of these fighters has struggled recently, but had great streaks before their struggle. While Rothwell had won 13 matches consecutively recently, online sportsbook betting odds favorite, Yvel recently had a 7 match win streak.

World Cup Preview of Ghana vs. Australia

posted on 06/03/2010 06:33 AM

Ghana and Australia will square off on the 19th of June. Of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, they are each part of Group D.

For both teams, this match will be an important one. In the group, the other two teams, football betting favorite teams, Serbia and Germany are seen as the two strongest teams. This fact will put a lot of pressure on these two teams. As the other two teams that they play are going to be tough, it will be a must-win scenario when they face off against each other.

Against each other, these teams match up pretty well. On each team, the caliber of players is probably pretty similar on the offensive side of the game. Each team has a decent attack, but not one that is one of the premier attacks of the World Cup like the other two teams in the group.

The fact that they will put a lot of pressure on the two teams on defense since they have a similar caliber of offensive attack. Their level of defensive attack is also similar. With two teams, that matchup so well this should make a great game to watch.

In this match, one of the x-factors for Australia could be goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, online sports betting odds star. Four years ago in the World Cup, Mark Schwarzer had a brilliant showing. This will give the Australians something to lean on as this goalkeeper could have the potential to keep Australia in the game through tough spots.

The home continent crowd can always be the x-factor for online sportsbook betting odds favorite team, Ghana. Looking to support them against Australia, the African people will be on their side.

In 2006, the $50,000 buy-in tournament was first held and up until this year it has been a H.O.R.S.E. event in which play rotated between Texas hold'em, Omaha 8-or-better, Razz, stud, and stud 8-or-better, all played with a limit betting structure. $50,000 World Championship H.O.R.S.E. is the name of the tournament and is most popular among online poker betting favorite.

It will include the five H.O.R.S.E. games followed by three additional games: no-limit hold'em, pot-limit Omaha (high only), and limit 2–7 triple draw, this year. Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays - Series - Preview

posted on 05/26/2010 05:50 AM

On Monday, May 24 at 7:05 ET, the Tampa Bay Rays play a 3 game series against the Boston Red Sox. As the Red Sox are always in the playoff hunt and the Rays are looking fantastic this year, this series among the division rivals could signify what is to come later in the season.

With a Major League Baseball best record of 29-11, the Rays are in first place in the tough AL East. As their offense in incredible and their pitching has been very effective, the Rays are firing on all cylinders this year. Unfortunately, the Red Sox have not shared the same success. They hold a mediocre record of 21-20 and are in 4th place in the division. They are 8.5 games back of the Rays, and they need to win this series if they don't want to dig themselves a deeper hole.

Although this year against the online sportsbook betting odds favorite teams, Yankees, the Red Sox have won some key games, they need to beat other teams consistently too.

The only probable starter for the series is baseball betting star, Wade Davis of the Rays, as of now. He is set to throw the first game in MLB. However, the Rays' aces Matt Garza and James Shields should be throwing games 2 and 3 of the series. For the Red Sox, it looks as if Clay Buchholz, Jon Lester, and John Lackey will be throwing games 1, 2, and 3 of the series.

This series could either decrease the Rays division lead over the Red Sox, or increase it.

2010 NFL Draft - Oakland Raiders - Review

posted on 05/03/2010 07:30 AM

Even though in every round of the 2010 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders had picks, biggest Draft-day acquisition had nothing to do with any of those picks. The Raiders sent their 2012 fourth round pick to the Washington Redskins for Jason Campbell, their starting quarter back of the past two years, on day 3. Quarterback play has been one of Oakland’s most glaring weaknesses in recent years. A league low, they threw 10 touchdowns last season.

The Raiders, the football betting favorite, seemed to have added quality players through the draft, in addition to adding a somewhat proven quarterback. They drafted top-rated inside linebacker Rolando McClain, an online sports betting favorite star with the eighth overall pick. The team has already given McClain a vote of confidence by dealing away linebacker Kirk Morrison, one of the Raiders’ top defensive players of the past four years.

Oakland entered the draft in the market for elite defensive linemen, with the 29th ranked rushing defense last season. On Texas defensive tackle Lamarr Houston, they used their second round selection. He had 68 tackles (22 for a loss) and 8 sacks last season en route to earning second-team All-Big 12 honors last season.

On offensive tackles, the Raiders used their next two picks. As the Oakland, another NFL betting odds favorite, gave up the third-most sacks in the NFL last season, this should be of particular interest to their newly acquired quarterback, as per various NFL football previews. In the third round, they took offensive tackle Jared Veldheer out of Hillside (Mich.) They landed Maryland offensive tackle Bruce Campbell, in the fourth round.

Oakland selected a wide receiver (Jacoby Ford, Clemson, 4th round), two cornerbacks (Walter McFadden, Auburn, 5th; Jeremy Ware, Michigan State, 7th), another linebacker (Travis Goethel, Arizona State, 6th), and a safety (Stevie Brown, Michigan, 7th), in rounds 4-7.

Outlook - Penn State Nittany Lions - 2010 Season

posted on 04/30/2010 07:35 AM

After going 11-2 and defeating SEC powerhouse LSU in a brutal New Years Day game in the mud and rain, it’s difficult to label the 2009 season as anything but a success. However, with the only two big games against Iowa and Ohio State turning into blowout losses, Nittany Lions fans can't help but lament as the talent level was high and the schedule was a cake walk. However, those two unlikely losses lowered their online betting odds in various sports betting websites.

Biggest Losses

For Penn State, the most glaring loss is at the quarterback position with Daryll Clark, who at one point in 2009 was in the hunt for the Heisman. With DT Jared Odrick and linebackers Sean Lee, Navorro Bowman, and Josh Hull, there are several notable losses at defense as well.

Returners

The defensive secondary and the entire offensive line returns led by C Stefen Wisniewski, one of the football betting favorite star in different online sportsbook, will be one of the strongest in the Big Ten.

Strengths

Before heading into big game match-ups against Iowa, Ohio State, and on the road at Alabama, an easy schedule of non-conference opponents will build the team's confidence. A talented receiving core was also returned by Penn.

Weaknesses

The defense needs to replace most of the starting core and find an identity. As Penn struggled against even a weak schedule, and this year they will replace QB Daryll Clark most likely with Kevin Newsome, a backup with only 11 pass attempts, they will need to rely on RB Evan Royster to carry the load while the quarterback gets experience.

It was the longest race he had ever run in. he led wire-to-wire as the race marked his second consecutive race. NASCAR Star - Jimmie Johnson Preview

posted on 04/09/2010 08:33 AM

The top of the racing sport has been Jimmie Johnson for four consecutive years coming into 2010 and his dominance is expected to continue this year too with all the online sportsbooks giving him top betting odds. Four years ago a major NASCAR series had never been won by Johnson but with his four consecutive Sprint Cup victories he has since become one of the most dominant drivers in the history of the sport.

The year was started by Johnson with a tough finish at the Daytona 500 where he ended up in 35th place, but has afterwards he really turned it on. Johnson was absolutely amazing in California following the Daytona 500.

The race was led by NASCAR betting star Johnson in California for 101 laps of the race, winning the whole thing and grabbed big points in the standings for a 195 point total at the race. From there Johnson’s strong effort has been continued in winning 2 more races, and placing in the top 10 in another. Since Daytona, where he did not make a good showing for himself, Jimmie Johnson’s worst finish of the season has been a 12th place finish at Atlanta.

To take his 5th consecutive NASCAR Sprint Cup championship that attracts lots of car racing betting, Johnson is back on track right now if he can only keep the pace that he is on right now. The first in the Cup standings is him with 898 points on the season so far.  That point total puts him 14 points in front of the second place driver in the Cup Standings at this point in the still young season.

The favorite to take it all the way for the 5th year running is Johnson and all of the tools have been with him.
