I, like most people who pay attention to such things, was surprised to hear that the development platform for iPhone was simply Webkit and Safari.  Being an Apple nut, a web developer and future iPhone owner, the stars had seemingly aligned for me to make a small contribution to this exciting new platform.

After reading about the initial iPhone apps and what people wanted for their phones, I decided to put together a feed reader app that was fast, light weight and easy to use.  iPhone feeds was primarily written last weekend using my PageBuildr platform as the backend (the site you're reading this on now).  All of the feed information is stored locally on your computer (or iPhone) in a small cookie, while the actual feeds are downloaded and cached by the PageBuildr system.  This allows your feeds to load lightning fast when you bring up iPhone Feeds on your phone.

The app was "production ready" Sunday evening, when I stumbled onto Digg and noticed the story about the site iPhone Application List - a definitive list of all the new apps available for iPhone.  The site was down due to the traffic from Digg, but after a couple of refreshes I was able to get it to load long enough to find the app submission link.  They posted iPhone Feeds right away, and my app proceeded to get visited 50,000 times in the next 24 hours!  To my knowledge it didn't crash during this time (let me know if I'm wrong, though).

I plan to keep developing this app until and after the iPhone finally hits.  Please leave any feedback or suggestion for features, fixes, etc, in the comments below.
