At this year’s Winter Olympics, Whistler Mountain near Vancouver is the site of the downhill skiing events. The unpredictable weather condition at the Whistler Mountain has been the run off the mill story. Rain blanketed Vancouver and was causing very slushy and messy conditions early in the games. Though the snow has been wet and slushy at the beginning, conditions improved and the snow for the downhill events got fast and tight and gave the BC Olympic crowds something to cheer about. The weather seems to be more winter like and has quelled and thus has allowed for better runs. Sports betting odds are always available with different sportsbooks.

The United States' Bode Miller finally got his long awaited gold medal in the Super Combined and stands at three medals at this year's games. The downhill and Alpine events for the men have been all about Bode Miller in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. If Miller is able to score another medal from rest of his events left in this years’ contest then he will become the first Winter Olympian to garner four medals in the Alpine competitions. 'The Comeback Kid' Bode Miller will be the one name that will come to mind when the Vancouver Winter Olympics goes down in the history books as far as downhill skiing goes. So stay tuned for the best possible sports betting action in Men’s downhill skiing.

New York Rangers - Marian Gaborik

posted on 03/22/2010 08:35 AM

The odd man out at this point in the season is the New York Rangers and it is needed to make a run if they plan on going anywhere besides fishing after the regular season. A solid team, exceeding the expectations of all this season is the Rangers. Most considered this to be a team that ended near the bottom of the conference but has instead been over .500 posting a 31-29-9 record on the season.

The Bruins are the same position as the Rangers, being teams that win at a slightly higher rate on the road than they do at home. Their inability to put those games away at home is disappointing, yet this is encouraging because it feels that they could never be counted out if they made a playoff series. Hockey betting odds are always available with various online sportsbooks.

One of the top players in the league so far this year, Marian Gaborik, is a very strong player of the Rangers. Gaborik has the ability to take over the game and lead his team to victory, and he has been a strong scorer and assistman this year (36 goals 37 assists).

Already playing in 60 of the teams games, Henrik Lundqvist, their goaltender has been a workhorse this year. The team is very successful going 28-23-8 when he starts.

Lundqvist is needed to be in every night by this team if they are going to put together a run to finish it and he is needed to continue to put up the numbers he has all season (2.45 goals against average .919 save percentage). The Story of Craps Game

posted on 03/20/2010 06:36 AM

Several versions are there about the history of the game craps. Craps’ origins actually go a long way back because the game uses dice, and these implements have been around since ancient Egypt. But the rules of modern day craps get its beginnings from an old English game, Hazard. This game was played with two dice and had complicated rules. Hazard was introduced to England by the Crusaders, who carried it back from the Middle East. Many online sportsbooks offer craps betting odds.

The game is believed to have carried to America by English Colonists in the form of Hazard, but the game metamorphosed into craps in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Hazard was played in casinos and on the street there, after the complicated rules were simplified. One theory says the name craps came from Creole players who crouched like “toads” when playing in the alleys. The French word for toad is “crapeaud”, and shortened to craps.

Soldiers and Riverboat patrons spread the new version of the game throughout North America. Until dice maker, John H. Winn, introduced changes to the betting arrangements in the early 1900’s, players easily cheated at first, using fixed dice and taking advantage of how a player was able to bet with or against the dice thrower.

The game spread through all of Europe as the soldiers carried it overseas in World War II. In the early 1930’s gambling was legalized in Nevada and the most popular betting game in the world became craps. Betting craps online is always available with different sportsbooks.
