At this year’s Winter Olympics, Whistler Mountain near Vancouver is the site of the downhill skiing events. The unpredictable weather condition at the Whistler Mountain has been the run off the mill story. Rain blanketed Vancouver and was causing very slushy and messy conditions early in the games. Though the snow has been wet and slushy at the beginning, conditions improved and the snow for the downhill events got fast and tight and gave the BC Olympic crowds something to cheer about. The weather seems to be more winter like and has quelled and thus has allowed for better runs. Sports betting odds are always available with different sportsbooks.

The United States' Bode Miller finally got his long awaited gold medal in the Super Combined and stands at three medals at this year's games. The downhill and Alpine events for the men have been all about Bode Miller in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. If Miller is able to score another medal from rest of his events left in this years’ contest then he will become the first Winter Olympian to garner four medals in the Alpine competitions. 'The Comeback Kid' Bode Miller will be the one name that will come to mind when the Vancouver Winter Olympics goes down in the history books as far as downhill skiing goes. So stay tuned for the best possible sports betting action in Men’s downhill skiing.

Preview - Indy car - Iowa Corn Indy 250

posted on 06/18/2010 06:04 AM

Many people will have their eyes on Penske racing, as the Iowa Corn Indy 250 approaches. This Sunday at the Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa Track, the Indycar Race Series event will take place.

The Penske team has continued to have success this year and has been a consistent force in the sport for years. To this point in the season, they have already won four races, bringing their total to 39 overall. The reason that so many eyes will be on the Penske team is because they have failed to win a race at the Iowa 250.

A lot more than just speed will be needed in this race. There are 250 laps to complete, in order to win this race at a good speed for all of those laps, it is important to be in control.  If you hope to take the victory, this is not the type of race that you can just sprint ahead right at the beginning.

Even though the NASCAR odds favorite, Penske team could not bring the consistency that was necessary to win the race, they managed to put up good stretches. Although Penske team has failed to finish higher than 7th place in the last few years, they have actually been in the lead in many of these Iowa 250 races.

In other news, with online sports betting odds favorite, Dreyer and Reinbold, Graham Rahal will be racing for the race. With the team, this will be the first time that he has raced. This marks the third team that he has raced with over his career to this point.

Offseason - BYU Cougars' - NCAA College Football

posted on 05/28/2010 04:12 AM

This NCAA College Football offseason, BYU coaches will be very busy. Coaches will be taking full advantage of all the talent that they have in camp this spring, with as many as 12 new faces, and some returning players. Returning starters like safety Andrew Rich, who's sidelined with offseason surgery, will take on the role as mentor to some of the young players like redshirt freshman Jray Galea'i and junior Steven Thomas.

As they are trying to replace three starters, the linebacker position is looking rather thin. This season, there will be players that will be seeing some action like, online sports betting odds star, inside linebacker Aveni Leung-Wai, USC transfer Uona Kaveinga, who won't be eligible to play until the 2011 season, as well as several walk-ons. Leung-Wai will be relied on a lot this season because of injuries to Shane Hunter and Brandon Ogaltree, Austen Jorgenson hasn't returned to school, and three players who they signed out of high school haven't arrived yet.

Online sportsbook betting odds favorites, Riley Nelson, James Lark, and Jake Heaps, who all had nice outings in practice, are a aplenty to choose from for BYU, so it will be hard to make a choice as to who will be starting.

Heaps connected with a wide open McKay Jacobson, football betting star, for a 57-yard pass, along with completing two of four passes for 72 yards and the best play came from him. Nelson threw for 33 yards on four of five passes and Lark went five for seven for 44 yards with a touchdown to tight end Richard Wilson for four yards.

Jesse Forbes vs. Ryan Jensen - UFC 114 Preview

posted on 05/26/2010 06:22 AM

On May 29th at UFC 114, Jesse Forbes and Ryan Jensen will have the opportunity to face off in a middleweight fight with a lot on the line. In what will happen with their respective fighting careers in the future, this match looks to be a deciding factor.

To see if they will remain in the UFC, it is very likely that each of these fighters will be fighting.  Their career in the UFC will be at an end, if they lose. This type of weight on a fight should help to create a hard hitting fight as each fighter seeks to survive.

In their respective UFC careers so far, each of these fighters has struggled. Since Ryan Jensen’s debut at UFC Fight Night 15, he has managed just one win. Jesse Forbes likewise was beaten badly in his debut by online sportsbook odds favorite, Matt Hamill. As they square off on the 29th, each will have a lot at stake.

In the UFC, though Jesse Forbes, UFC betting odds favorite, has struggled, he has had a solid professional fighting career. He has managed to put up a record of 11-4 in his career. Similarly, online sports betting odds star, Ryan Jensen has shown many signs of promise in his career. Of his 20 career matches, he has won 14. Though they have struggled to produce these results in the UFC, they each have the potential to step up their game.

What each fighter is made of, this fight will show. There should be a lot of entertainment in this fight, with so much at stake.

Saskatchewan Roughriders - Preview - CFL Season

posted on 05/21/2010 05:28 AM

In 2009 season of the CFL, the Saskatchewan Roughriders clinched the West Division. Into the playoffs, they continued their success. In the playoffs, the Roughriders managed to beat Calgary before falling in a heartbreaking loss to Montreal in the Grey Cup Championship game. The Roughriders are hungry this season to show that they have what it takes to bring their team to the top, after a 1 point loss in the Grey Cup championship game.

The Roughriders really made some smart moves in the draft, after having such a solid season. The Roughriders picked a variety of players in order to add depth to a lot of positions and were already a solid team all around.

Linebacker Shomari Williams, CFL betting star, was their number one pick in the draft. The Roughriders had 2 All Star linebackers, last season. With the help of another top level linebacker, this could bring the defense of the Saskatchewan Roughriders to the next level.

In the first round of the draft, the Roughriders were also fortunate to have another pick. CFL betting odds favorite, the Roughriders picked Jordan Sisco, a wide receiver.

For the Roughriders, this was good. They did not have a 1000 yard receiver last year, though they had a few solid receivers. Jordan Sisco may be just what they need in terms of a “go-to” receiver.

In the offseason, the Roughriders did a great job of adding even more depth to a team that was already right at the top of the league. In Saskatchewan, look for big things.

Preview - Celtics vs. Cavaliers - Eastern Conference Semifinals

posted on 05/03/2010 05:24 AM

In the second round of the NBA's Eastern Conference playoffs, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics continue their budding rivalry. In the 2008 conference finals, the teams last met in the postseason, in an entertaining seven-game series in which the Celtics, the pre-match online sports betting favorites, won en route to win the NBA championship.

With a strained left elbow, Cavs' star, LeBron James, one of the top NBA betting favorite star players who played in Cleveland's 4-1 series win over the Chicago Bulls, has more help this time around. While point guard Mo Williams provides a much-needed threat from the perimeter, veterans Shaquille O'Neal and Antawn Jamison provide some added scoring punch and leadership.

The Celtics, the NBA betting odds favorites, No. 4 seed in the playoffs and who limped to a 50-32 record in the regular season, are still looking for their peak after a so-so year. The aging "Big Three" of Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce has most thinking the franchise's window of opportunity is closing quickly and since their NBA title run two seasons ago.

Although after a dominant 4-1 series win over the Miami Heat, Boston has new life. Including a 2-2 series split against them in the regular season, the C's also have recent success against the Cavs to their credit.

To overcome the deeper, more dynamic Cavaliers, do they have enough? The immediate forecast doesn't look good, although time will tell. ESPN.com's panel of 10 experts and basketball betting lines predict a Cavs' series win. CBSSports.com senior writer Ken Berger says Cavs in 7 and the Associated Press like Cleveland in 5 games.

Stanley Cup Playoffs Betting in NHL

posted on 04/20/2010 05:54 AM

As the playoffs are about to begin, Hockey's second season begins in earnest. Leaving plenty of room for speculation about the other contenders, just under one-third of the players seem to think that Washington will bring home the Cup and has got slightly favorable hockey betting odds over all the online sportsbooks that allow betting of hockey.

This is no one man show. While Washington is lead by Ovechkin, the Caps led the league on the power play and Ovetchkin, Semin, and Backstrom combined for 120 goals this season. Oddsmakers tab the Capitals as a 7:2 favorite.

Chicago has not won the Cup since 1961 and this year will be no different, unless the goaltending becomes more solid, they will not be the hockey betting favorite. A hot goalie is worth his weight in gold, While Kane and Toews have been solid all year. The odds are 9:2, but don't look for gold here.

To complement the play of Thornton, San Jose added Heatley and the decision paid dividends. A deep run seems likely and a Throw  in a special teams unit that was 3rd on the power play and 5th on the penalty kill. The odds are 11:2, but Nabakov has stamina issues after a long season.

The main issue for the Canucks is Luongo in the goal, although Vancouver is a 15:2 selection. He seems to feel the pressure, A good everyday goalie.

With Crosby and Malkin leading the charge, Pittsburgh is prepared to defend the title.

Power play problems persist although Fleury has been solid in the goal. The Penguins finished an unremarkable 19th. With a 6:1 selection The Pens are surprising.

Jeff Burton – NASCAR Preview

posted on 04/09/2010 09:33 AM

A pack of drivers that are in the secondary level of drivers so far this season are lead by Jeff Burton. Despite leading the race in 4 different races so far this season, 2 top ten finishes have just been finished by Burton so far this year and makes him a favorite with all online sportsbooks.

A big disappointment for the Jeff Burton team was the Race at Martinsville. The race was managed to lead by Burton for 140 laps on the day after starting in the 7th position.  Despite his ability to grab the lead for a large chunk of the race, Burton managed just a 20th place finish after all was said and done.

Online sprint Cup betting favorite, Burton’s finishes are 20th, 10th, 20th, and 3rd in the 4 races that he has held a lead at some point in the car racing.  A third place finish is solid and acceptable, but Burton is going to need to learn how to take a lead and then hold onto it for the rest of the race if he hopes to move up to the next level of drivers this year.

In the year 2000, the glory days of NASCAR betting star Jeff Burton ended. Burton has failed to do so for 9 straight seasons after finishing in the top 5 in the standings for 4 consecutive years.  Since the year 2000, Burton has not won more than 2 races in any season.

The opportunity to turn things around this year and resurrect his career has been with Burton. Whether he can learn to sustain those leads that he has been so successful at taking so far this year is dependent on it.

Best Mexican Soccer Player – Blanco

posted on 03/29/2010 05:56 AM

Mexico has failed to when very many titles to prove that, but has been very successful internationally.  A regular at the World Cup Finals is Mexico.  The past few years have been difficult for the Mexican team going through three coaches and losing more than 60 players.  The Mexicans struggled in qualifying, but managed to come in second behind the USA and secure a spot in the Group stage.

Their midfield is the greatest strength of Mexican team.  Help on both sides of the field is possible with the midfield. Feeding the ball to the frontline is a skill that the Mexican midfielders are good at. You can find such interesting stuff by visiting the online sportsbooks.

Their firepower is the weakness of Mexico.  No good strikers are there.  Also, the midfield does not have the range to make goals.

Cuauhtemoc Blanco is probably one of the best Mexican soccer players.  Blanco has extreme precision, but is an older player.  Blanco was convinced to come out of retirement and has been a great asset. Look for Rafael Marquez on the defensive side of the field.  Marquez’s temper has been known to get the better of him, but has explosive power.

Making beyond the Group stage is Mexico’s main goal, but the skill to make it further than that is with them.   It will be difficult to win against France, but is definitely achievable.  The game against Uruguay will be the most entertaining to watch because of a long-standing rivalry.  If Mexico plays to their ability they will do extremely well. Many sportsbooks help soccer fans to make money easily with soccer betting online.

Strengths and Weaknesses of Uruguay

posted on 03/26/2010 09:32 AM

A very small country that has rounded up some extremely talented players throughout history is Uruguay.  Two World Cups have been won by Uruguay many years ago.  Granted Uruguay is not playing at the level as when they won, but the history serves as inspiration for the current squad.  Uruguay, at the bottom of qualifying in the South American zone, had to go into a playoff to secure a spot in the Group stage.

Uruguay’s backline is their greatest asset.  Attacks from the large South American teams have to be stopped continually by the defense.  The practice Uruguay received from their South American neighbors has made the defense rock solid and made them a safe option for football betting. You can get in on the action with this betting online group.

Uruguay’s greatest weakness is inconsistency. They do not always play extremely well although they always play extremely hard.  When matching up Uruguay against other teams, you never know if they will come away with a win or loss.

Diego Forian is to be looked for if you want to watch one of the world’s best strikers.  Forian can strike from both short and long range and is extremely talented.  To Forian’s side, look for Luis Suarez.  Suarez is excellent at setting up plays for Forian to score.  Also the leader of the team Diego Lugano is to be watched for.  An extremely tough player and very entertaining to watch is Lugano.

Uruguay has the potential to do very well while it has little chance of winning the World Cup.  Any team could win in the group stage.  The best game to watch will be against Uruguay’s rival Mexico. If you are interested to learn more on how to bet on football, stay tuned with this sports betting group.

Atlantic Division Preview: Philadelphia Flyers

posted on 03/23/2010 05:52 AM

The Philadelphia outscored their opponents by 18 goals this year and they are probably as impressive a 6th best team in the league can be this. The Pittsburgh Penguins, the best hockey betting odds and 2nd best team in the Eastern Conference, have only outscored their opponents by 20 goals so far on the season just to put that number into perspective.

They have been improving their season record to 36-28-4(wins-losses-overtime losses) on the season and have been solid especially as of late putting up a 6-3-1 record in the last 10 games.

They could potentially move up or move out of the playoffs and they will need a solid finish to the season in order to ensure a position in the playoffs and there is still plenty of hockey to be played this season. On the season so far, the Flyers are sitting right about where they were expected to be. They were expecting to make the playoffs this year but nobody expected them to pass up the New Jersey Devils or the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Atlantic Division.

Online hockey betting favorite Michael Leighton, acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes recently is leading them and for Leighton the change has been night and day. Carolina he was giving up on average more than 4 goals a game in the first part of the season. However in his last 25 starts with the Flyers he has been excellent. With a mere 2.42 goal allowed per game in his time in the net, he has posted a 16-5-2 record.

As the season ends, the Flyers will really need to services. The Flyers have the potential to take down any team in the NHL, if he can continue on with the success he has had over the last 25 games.
