Another year of deer camp has come and gone at the Cedar Beam.  The season started out slow with hardly anything moving opening day.  Things picked up a little on Sunday when Joe got a nubbin buck and then Gary got a nice 8 pointer.  We were a little short handed to put on drives during the week but on Wed. during a little jaunt near the river road I (Dustin) got an 8 pointer.  More people showed back up for the second half of the week and got a few more deer for the game pole.  Dylan shot a 6 pointer way way back in the cedar swamp, then later got two does and Desmond also got a doe.  A pretty good season! It looks like the largest Buck was Gary's so he wins the kitty, but as it turns out everyone up here is such a great shot the kitty is sitting at $0.00.  Oh yeah, then there was a little story about a "squatter" trying to claim the outhouse as his own.  Apparently Angie and Brittney accidentally locked Dan in the outhouse for a while.  He was standing on the seat looking through the window to try and get someone's attention in the shack, but of course nobody noticed until Desmond came out and saw him, they eventually let him out.
