2nd Annual Green Room Pub/Wisconsin Pepperheads Pancreatic Cancer Golf Benefit

08/02/2009 01:00 AM

Did you know that in America, one in three women and one in two men will be diagnosed with some form of cancer in their lifetime?  Among cancer, pancreatic cancer is the 4th leading cause of death in the United States and the third leading cause of death among men ages 40-59.  For all stages of pancreatic cancer combined, the five year survival rate is only 5% - the lowest survival rate of all major cancers. Despite these facts, pancreatic cancer receives the least amount of federal research funding of any major cancer.

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is the leader in the fight to defeat pancreatic cancer.  We are the only national organization creating hope in a comprehensive way, through research, patient support, community outreach and advocacy for a cure.

Alex Wilson

08/14/2009 9:00 PM

"Alex Wilson comes from a family of musicians. His grandmother was a professional jazz singer. His father Tom has played with nearly every blues act gracing stages in Milwaukee and Chicago for the past 30 years. Uncle Mark, always with a full calendar playing with the likes of B.B. King, Stevie Ray, Marcia Bell, Ronnie Earl and many others, manages to join Alex on several cuts. The remaining musicians are a Who's Who of accomplished, respected veterans who hang their spurs in the Midwest. Alex's younger brother Matt, recently joined Alex, and can be heard on one cut. There's absolutely nothing not to like here.

Alex's guitar and voice sound like a crusty Delta veteran, delivering both with his distinct flair."

Cedarwell

08/21/2009 9:00 PM

Just before the morning, while the nervous sun hesitates beyond the horizon, Cedarwell wakes up at the bottom of the ocean. Slowly gasping for a breath and swimming towards the surface Joel Philip Stokdyk (drums, percussion, harmonica) realizes they are far away from home. Erik G. Neave (acoustic guitar, voice) gets sucked up behind him and grabs a glossy tuft of seaweed peeking out from a slit of darkness and screams up to his shrinking partner "I will never let go. I can never let go."
