The Green Room is a bar where everybody knows your name.

Granted, it's in Sheboygan, WI, but let me tell you there are plenty of places in Sheboygan where no one wants to know your name.

Comrade Casro and I walked into the pub and were greeted with hellos and good beer -- Que Viva Spotted Cows!

The co-owner stayed awhile to chat with us, and his son, the other co-owner, made a chicken sandwich, whose name I can't remember, but it's flavor and texture made the chicken's sacrifice worth my sustenance.

I went there almost every day we were in Sheboygan just because everyone at the Green Room Pub is so community-oriented and they greet you like you are family, be you revolutionary chef, Kohler factory worker, small town artist, or vocifierous biker dude.

Remember, if we are going to be killing living things, it better be for a darn good reason. Even plants die so we can live, but the corporate slaughter of chickens, pigs, and cows for mass consumption can't be a good reason to manipulate the life cycle of these animals.

And remember...they have amazing bands.
